Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte Warns Immigrants to integrate or leave the country:People who shout at women in short skirts or call ordinary Dutch people racist.”
Immigrants in Holland have been warned by the Dutch prime minister to integrate or leave the country.
In what is being seen as an attempt to appear at least as robust on immigration as his anti-Islamic opponents, the normally liberal Mark Rutte has raised the stakes ahead of the Dutch election on March 15 by writing in a full-page advertisement in national newspapers saying that he understands why some citizens want those who refuse to integrate to live elsewhere.
Rutte wrote: “I have that feeling, too. Behave normally or go away. Leave, you don’t have to be here. People who don’t want to adapt, who attack gay people, who shout at women in short skirts or call ordinary Dutch people racist.”
He also criticized the Dutch rights institute, which recently ruled in support of a Muslim job seeker who was refused work as a bus driver because he would not shake women’s hands – apparently for religious reasons. Rutte said the decision was “bizarre”.
